Kenya Disability Integration Project (K-DIP)

This project is supported through Help A Child Africa and integrated within Bomet Child Centered Community Development Project.

Project Goal: To enhance disability inclusion among children and youth with disability for economic epowerment and sustainability.

Project Objectives:

  1. Educate; To improve the educational outcomes for children and youth with disability
  2. Empower; To improve economic opportunities for households with children and youth with disability
  3. Protect: Children and youth with disability to reduce their vulnerability
  4. Normalize: Disability conversations to reduce stigma and discrimination
  5. Amplify: Children and youth with Disability Voices to create and sustain change
  6. Connect: Children and youth with Disability, their parents/care givers to each other, essential services and disability experts
  7. Integrate: Disability inclusive programming to strengthen existing CCCD programmes
  8. Catalyse: Systems change at all level

The project has;

Reached 160 people with disability and supported them through the assessment and registration with the GOK for support Supported in forming, training 7 groups of 65 PWDs and their household representatives and linked with Social Services department. They are now engaging in savings and lending and income generating activities Linked PWDs for scholarships, assistive devices, economic empowerment
