This is a project supported by the Grand Challenges Canada under Christian AID. The project is a pilot implemented in Narok West Sub County. The target population is 60 TBAs, 5000 community members and 500 girls around 20 health facilities catchment areas.

Improved reproductive Health outcomes for Adolescent Girls & Young Women (AGYW) aged 15-19 Years in Narok County
Project Outcomes
Outcome 1
Traditional Attendants (TBAs) with improved knowledge, practices and enabling social-economic environment for promotion of positive RMNCH behaviors among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 15-19 years old
Outputs
- TBAs with improved awareness, knowledge, attitude and confidence towards positive RMNCH behaviour
- TBAs with increased access to other forms of Income generation other than from home deliveries
- Increased linkages of TBAs to alternative economic opportunities including microfinance and government institutions
Impact so far
0ver 200 TBAs have been integrated to the health system for uptake of ANC, PNCFP and Skilled deliveries for AGYW in 20 health facilities in Narok West
Outcome 2
Increased uptake/utilization of Antenatal Care (ANC), Post Natal Care (PNC), Family Planning Skilled Delivery among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 15-19 years old
Outputs
- Adolescent girls have increased uptake of skilled deliveries
- Adolescents with improved knowledge and practices on skilled based assistance
Outcome 3
Strengthened health systems for provision of RMNCH Services among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 15-19 years old
Outputs
- Health workers with workers with improved attitude and practices around youth friendly RMNCH services
- Improved quality of AGYW services and linkages provided by health service providers
- Strengthened coordination and collaboration for provision of RMNCH service to AGYW
Impact so far
Working with 20 health facilities serve as referral points for improvement health facilities service provision of RMNCH Services among Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) aged 15-19 years old
In this facilities the following is on going
- Outreach and awareness activities promoting positive RMNCH behaviours to Health Service Providers
- Training and sensitization of Health Service Providers on Youth Friendly Services (ANC, PNC, FP and SBA)
- Provision of mother packs (baby shawl, basin, and sanitary pads)
- Facility based health education sessions
- Provision IEC materials for communication
