Integrated Project on Maternal Health, Family Planning, Environment and Gender in the Maasai Mara Ecosystem

The project is implemented in Narok County Narok West, Narok East, Transmara East from July 2022 to May 2024.

Project goal: The overall goal of this project is to increase supply and demand for and delivery of high-quality maternal health and family planning services to underserved communities in the Mara

Ecosystem in Narok County in Kenya, while ensuring sustainability of the environment in which they depend on by 2022.

Project Objectives:

Objective 1: To improve availability of MH and FP information and services through integration with environment and while addressing gender barriers in Maasai Mara-Narok county

Objective 2: To increase awareness, demand and acceptance of MH and FP services by addressing socio-cultural barriers including Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) and through integration with environment in Maasai Mara- Narok County

Objective 3: To strengthen the community health and environment platforms, systems and structures to support uptake of MH and FP services in Maasai Mara Narok

Objective 4: Strengthen the capacity of the Narok County Health department to plan, finance and implement cross sectoral integrated health and environment programs/projects
