ADS South Rift Bomet CCCD Project Joins the Community in Celebrating World Cerebral Palsy Day 2025
On 6th October 2025, the ADS South Rift Bomet CCCD Project team joined hands with hundreds of community members, caregivers, and partners in marking World Cerebral Palsy Day — a day dedicated to raising awareness and promoting inclusion for persons living with cerebral palsy.

The event, held at Bomet Hostel Integrated Primary School, was filled with vibrant displays of unity, compassion, and hope. The ADS SR team, led by the Project Officer, walked alongside children with disabilities and their caregivers in a colorful awareness march, with bright green colour symbolizing growth and inclusion.

Through interactive sessions, the team shared messages on early childhood development, inclusive education, and the importance of community support in nurturing children with disabilities. The highlight of the day was the moving testimonies from parents whose children have benefited from the Bomet CCCD project’s interventions.

The day’s activities included an awareness walk through Bomet town, public sensitization sessions, and exhibitions showcasing local efforts to support children living with cerebral palsy. The ADS South Rift team actively participated in the procession and took part in discussions highlighting the importance of inclusive education, early intervention, and family-centered care.

Speaking during the event, the Project Officer reiterated the organization’s commitment to promoting inclusion and ensuring that children with disabilities have equal opportunities to thrive within their communities. Parents also shared testimonies on how the CCCD Project has supported them through capacity building, linkages to health services, and community awareness initiatives.

The celebration served as a reminder that inclusion begins with collective action. ADS South Rift remains dedicated to working with partners, families, and local authorities to build a society where every child, regardless of ability, is valued and supported to reach their full potential.

This year’s theme was “Unique and United” It calls for people to recognize and celebrate the unique strengths of individuals with CP, and to come together to remove barriers and ensure they have the support and opportunities to thrive.
